Valley of Flowers Trek Uttarakhand — Tour Overview

About the Valley of Flowers National Park

Nestled in the Himalayan Range of the Garhwal Himalayas, the Valley of Flowers Uttarakhand is a UNESCO World Heritage Site spread across 87 sq km at 3,352–3,658 m elevation. Best Time to Visit Valley of Flowers Uttarakhand

The Valley of Flowers is accessible only from June to October when the snow melts and the National Park gate opens. The bloom season has three distinct phases:

  • Late June – Early July: First flush of early bloomers — Anemone, Marsh Marigold, and Geranium carpet the valley floor.
  • Mid-July – Mid-August (Peak): Maximum diversity with 600+ species in simultaneous bloom. This is the best window for photography and botanists.
  • Late August – September: Brahmakamal, Aster, and late-season orchids dominate. Crowds thin out and the light is softer.

Avoid early June (heavy snow) and late October (park closure). Monsoon rains are intermittent but manageable with good rain gear.
